At the department of Geology, we work with education and research within the subject Geoscineces. Our work is characterised by independence, high commitment and responsibility with a great deal of trust. You will be part of the research group focusing on hydrogeology.

Working as an amanuensis allows you to combine studies with work and complement your theoretical knowledge with practical work experience.

Work duties
The duties of an assistant may involve teaching, participation in research or administration. This post involves travelling to and from the local drilling site daily for 2-5 days.

  • Logging in field during drilling work
  • Sampling
  • Analyses of data
  • Preparation of project result report

Eligible for employment

As amanuensis, you are required to be accepted into education on an undergraduate or advanced level at the Department. The exam must not be withdrawn.

Qualifications
Requirements for the position are:

- You are admitted to and in the second year of one of the Master programmes in Geology.

- Education of at least 15 credits in hydrogeology and 15 credits in contaminated land at university.

- Knowledge of: Swedish and English

- Driving licence B

- Swedish citizenship

Meritorious for the position is:

- Experience from work with hydrogeological issues.

- Experience from logging during drilling

- Experience of compiling hydrogeological data

We will place great emphasis on personal suitability. Consideration will also be given to i.e. good collaborative skills, drive and independence, and how the applicant’s experience and skills complement and strengthen the work within the unit/department, as well as contribute to the project development.

Terms of employment
Temporary employment for a drilling project for about 3 weeks of work. The scope of the position is 50% of full time during 6 weeks.

The employment is limited in time during the period of the 23rd of September- 1st of November 2024 and refers to a scope of maximum 50%. 

The employment must not have a negative impact on the studies of the assistant. Provisions regarding educational employment as an assiatant can be found in the Higher Education Ordinance (SFS 2017:284), Chapter 5, Sections 8-12.
