The Division of Food and Pharma conducts research and education with relevance for the food and pharmaceutical industry and other related areas. We offer a strong research environment with good research infrastructure, including a human trial facility and pilot plant for food research. Our work has a clear connection to Agenda 2030, especially to sustainable consumption and production as well as human health. An important part of our strategy is collaboration with industry, society, and other research groups both in Sweden and internationally.
The position is located in the Division Food and Pharma, which is part of the Department of Process and Life Science Engineering. Within the department, we have close cooperation with each other, and you will be part of a team where research and teaching are important but where we also have close cooperation with industry. In these projects, you will primarily work with issues that affect human health. You will work closely with a team of researchers with a focus on industrial nutrition. Research in food processing and nutrition is about understanding how the processes and design of foods affect physiological functions that are important to human health. Understand how processing and substances in food can affect gut health through studies that include the use of animal models, in vitro digestion techniques and cell models. The position is as a research assistant in the subject area of applied nutrition. The main tasks are to carry out laboratory work and document experiments according to project plans. This includes work with various food processing methods, such as germination, fermentation, pulse electric fields and ultrasound. The work also includes laboratory tests, sample preparation and chemical analysis. As well as trials that include in-vitro, animal and cell models. Some administration related to the duties above is also included.

The position is a special fixed term position for 12 months, full time and starting as soon as possible or after agreement.
