The Department of Political Science announces an employment as project assistent in the project
PUSHPEACE (funded by Riksbankens jubileumsfond). 

Project description

PUSHPEACE is a 5-year research program (2019-2023) centered around the broad objective of finding new ways to conceptualize and build peace in order to identify ways to create more sustainable peace practices. Three in depth case studies of the peace processes in Colombia, Israel/Palestine and Northern Ireland are conducted.

Job description

The most important tasks include collecting, processing and coding data from the peace processes in Northern Ireland. The project assistant will assist with planning, conducting and transcribing qualitative online interviews in Swedish. The work also involves assisting in reference management and daily activities within the project's work. 

Requirements for the position are:

  • Master’s degree in Political Science and / or Peace and Conflict Studies or equivalent skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
  • Capacity for independent, accurate and systematic empirical work
  • General curiosity and good ability to process qualitative data
  • Good knowledge of the field of peace and conflict science

Additional qualifications for the position are:

  • Experience from qualitative interviews, working with reference software (such as Endnote or Zotero), and programs such as NVivo and/or excel.

Terms of employment

The employment is 50% and is time-limited to at least four months with the possibility of extension. The starting date is as soon as possible or as per agreement.
