Description of the workplace
At the research group for Cardiovascular research - epidemiology, research is conducted in cardiovascular and lung diseases. A particular focus is on ECG research, analysis of ECG signals from long-term recordings and prospective analyzes of these. The research has been at the forefront of the field for several years and is mainly based on well-researched population-basthecohorts in Malmö. You can read more about the research here. Work duties
As a researcher, you are expected to independently develop and run a line of research in the field of electrocardiography, with a focus on long-term recording of ECG and determinants of atrial fibrillation and related diseases. Studies of clinical materials and population-based research databases with epidemiological methodology, statistical analyzes and programming of ECG databases are included in the tasks. Supervision of doctoral students is part of the duties, as are applications for research grants.

Qualifications

Requirements for the position are:

  • Docent qualification or equivalent
  • Specialized doctor in the field of cardiology/clinical physiology/ image and functional diagnostics
  • Documented experience of supervising doctoral students
  • Significant research experience in the field of electrocardiography
  • Significant experience in epidemiologic analysis of population-based cohorts
  • Significant experience in statistical analysis's and programming of ECG databases
  • Ability to communicate freely in English in speech and writing
  • You are proactive, driven and have good analytical and collaborative skills

Meritorious for the position are:

  • Own research grants as principal
  • Broad national and international network of contacts in the research area.

Terms of employment
The employment is a permanent position with scope 100%. Desired start date is 2025-01-01, or as agreed.
