Description of the workplace

The Department of Electrical and Information Technology at The Faculty of Engineering, LTH, Lund University is one of the larger departments with around 120 employees. The department consists of four divisions and a group of technical and administrative staff. We are situated in the E-building at LTH’s campus in the north of Lund, but we also have teaching activities at campus Helsingborg. 

We will now employ around 20 teaching assistants for work with teaching activities during study period 3 2025.

Work duties

The teaching assistants will primarily assist in the teaching of the courses at the department, as well as assist the course responsible teacher with related tasks, as in grading hand-in assignments, question hours, course development and other administration depending on the actual needs.

The teaching assistants are needed for the following courses:

  • EITA15 Digital Systems 
  • EITF70 Computer Organization
  • EITF90 Electromagnetics and Electronics 
  • ESSF01 Analogue Circuits

There may also be work in other courses than above.

Qualification requirements

Only those admitted to first or second-cycle courses and study programmes at the faculty may be employed as teaching assistants. 

Required qualifications:

  • Admitted to (relevant) first or second-cycle courses in Electrical Engineering.
  • Very good oral and written proficiency in Swedish and English.
  • Good grades for relevant courses.
  • Outgoing, easy to make contact with other people and good pedagogical skills.

Additional requirements: 

  • Previous teaching experience as teaching assistant or similar at the department or in close subjects. 
  • Grades in other courses in subjects relevant to the chosen course(s). 

We will put a strong emphasis on personal suitability. Good collaboration skills and how the applicant can add to the teaching at the department with special skills and competence will be taken into account.

Further information

The position is a fixed term position for the period January 20—March 22, 2025, at between 5-25 per cent of full time by agreement. 

The employment as a Teaching Assistant is regulated in the Higher Education Ordinance (SFS 2017:284), 5 chapter 8-12 §§. The employment is covered by the “Working time agreement for teachers”.
