Description of the workplace

The infrastructure UREAD offers a technology and knowledge hub for research on and development of antibodies. It enables the use of technology platforms for development of human antibodies from large in-house developed antibody libraries together with studies of antibody-target, as well as other molecular interactions. Advanced technologies are employed within the department including genomics and transcriptomics, antibody development based on phage display, large-scale mass spectrometry-based proteomics and associated bioinformatics. U-READ is also part of the national infrastructure SciLifeLab's Drug Discovery and Development Platform.

We offer

Lund University is a public authority which means that employees get particular benefits, generous annual leave and an advantageous occupational pension scheme. Read more on the University website about being a Lund University employee Work at Lund University

Duties include selection of antibody candidates using our genetic engineering toolbox, incl. use of phage display technology, immunochemical assays and next-generation sequencing and to identify unique antibodies for further development. A large part of the work also includes characterizing the binding and biophysical properties of antibodies using various protein and immunochemical techniques. In addition, you will perform gene cloning and protein production to study, functionalize and modify antibodies and develop new modalities for protein-protein interactions. The duties also include documenting and reporting the results of your work and collaborating within and beyond the research environment. As a research engineer within U-READ, you are also responsible for maintaining and developing our technical infrastructures. As we are a part of the university, there are also tasks within teaching and training, such as supervision of students during laboratories.
