Description of the workplace 

Transport and Roads offer a unique and open environment for advanced research on traffic safety and behaviour. The group counts six senior researchers (postdocs and senior lecturers) and three PhD students. On the availability of the group, there is a traffic simulation lab with an advanced driving simulator. The group has several active projects in the field of traffic safety, European and national. Your workplace will be in the VR lab in Mindpark, Helsingborg.

Work duties 

You will be working with advanced traffic simulators, including simulation of both car and bicycle traffic in realistic city environments. You will develop and optimize frameworks for simulation, which will be used in future research projects within traffic safety and autonomous transport systems. The work is carried out in close collaboration with researchers in the field.

More specifically your tasks will be to:

  • Develop a bicycle simulator in Unreal Engine
  • Develop 3D models to be able to build new 3D environments
  • Update the car simulators software and hardware
  • Develop the possibility to co-simulate with the car simulator.

Qualifications  

Required qualifications for the position are:

  • Completed education in programming on master level.
  • Good written and oral proficiency in English.   
  • Experience of game engine driven development in Unreal Engine or Unity.
  • Experience of 3D modelling.
  • You have the ability to collaborate, work independently and structure your work.

Further information 

The position is a substitute position at 100 per cent of full time for 6 months, starting as soon as possible, according to agreement.
