Work duties
Work within a project focused on studying interactions between chaperone proteins and amyloid proteins, producing and purifying these components, as well as selecting and analyzing binding proteins from large libraries. The tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Laboratory service, including preparation of solutions.
  • Routine maintenance of FPLC systems.
  • Protein expression in bacterial cells such as E. coli.
  • Protein purification using ion exchange chromatography and gel filtration chromatography.
  • Protein purification using affinity chromatography, such as the split-EF-tag system.
  • Protein-protein interaction analysis on cell surface proteins using FACS.
  • Yeast and bacterial display with FACS sorting.

 Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s degree or equivalent in natural sciences.
  • Documented practical experience in protein expression in bacterial cells.
  • Documented practical experience in protein purification from cell extracts using ion exchange chromatography and gel filtration chromatography.
  • Documented practical experience in handling automated chromatography systems such as FPLC and HPLC.
  • Documented practical experience in servicing automated chromatography systems such as FPLC and HPLC.
  • Documented practical experience in protein analysis using optical spectroscopy and dynamic light scattering.
  • Skills: Fluent in Swedish and/or English.

 Other merits

  • The candidate would preferably have experience in expression and purification of amyloid proteins and chaperones, including Aβ, Tau, α-synuclein, and DNAJB6.
  • Experience in developing laboratory methods and reagents is considered an advantage.

Terms of employment

A full time (100%) fixed-term employment will start 1st of March and until 31st of December 2025.
