Description of the workplace
The division of mathematical physics spans both the faculties of natural science and engineering science (LTH), and it is a part of the department of physics. Research is conducted primarily in the fields of quantum many-body systems, which includes theoretical research in nuclear physics, nanometer physics, quantum information, atomic physics, and modeling of materials, with several collaborations internationally and within Lund University.

Work duties

The successful candidate will work in the field of quantum information theory and fundamental aspects of quantum theory. The work will take place within the research group led by Armin Tavakoli at the Department of Mathematical Physics at the Department of Physics. The main task is to support research in this field.


Qualifications
College or university education in physics. Significant research experience in quantum correlations. Very good knowledge of English, both spoken and written.

Other merits

Postgraduate education in theoretical physics. Good ability for scientific communication in both writing and speaking. Good initiative. Previous experience in basic research on fundamental concepts in quantum theory.

We will place great emphasis on personal suitability. Consideration will also be given to good collaborative skills, drive and independence, and how the applicant’s experience and skills complement and strengthen the administrative work within the unit/department, as well as contribute to its future development.

Terms of employment
The duration of employment is six months. The employment is full time.
