Work duties
The main motivation of this project is to quantify the terrestrial ecosystem feedback induced by natural vegetation responses and land use and land cover changes.

The main objectives are:

• To incorporate new features of LPJ GUESS relevant dynamic root schemes to the EC-Earth system framework;
• To quantify impacts of the terrestrial ecosystem biogeophysical feedbacks on terrestrial carbon cycle, climate variabilities and ocean sea ice dynamics;
• To distinguish effects of ecosystem feedbacks from land use and land cover change and natural ecosystem responses

 This is a 4-month fixed term position funded by the Crafoord Foundaction and Swedish Research Council VR.

 Qualifications

A person meets the general admission requirements for this project if he or she:

• Has a Master’s degree in climate/ecosystem science
• Has previous experience on running an Earth system model (EC-Earth)
• Has good knowledge and skills in programming (eg. NCL, CDO) and data analysis 

Other merits

Special attention is paid to the following:

• A publication record on related topics will be a plus
• Participated in related projects using dynamic vegetation models
• Experience with Linuxbased supercomputer platform.

Fixed-term employment for 4 months due §5 p1 LAS. Startdate of employment 2025-03-01. The scope of the employment full time 100%
