Description of the workplace

The PhD project will be carried out within the Cell, Tissue and Organ Engineering Group led by Dr. Paul Bourgine. Bone is a complex organ that provides structural and mechanical support for our body, but also serves as our main hematopoietic center. The formation of bone involves different phases, including cartilage, vascularization, bone and bone marrow establishment. The Bourgine laboratory aims to gather human-specific knowledge about these processes, with a view to the development of innovative regenerative therapies. The research group is part of the Wallenberg Center for Molecular Medical Research and the Lund Stem Cell Center, at the Faculty of Medicine in Lund. More information is available on our website: www.bourginelab.com

The research group strives to conduct excellent research on an international level while maintaining a healthy working environment where everyone should feel involved, stimulated, and supported.

The Department of Clinical Sciences Lund is now announcing a vacancy for a PhD position and employment as a doctoral student within the research area Medical Science - ”Immuno-regulatory function of the human bone marrow niche”.
