Description of the Workplace
The research group on innate immunity at the Department of Dermatology is well-established and has long-term support from the Swedish Research Council (Vetenskapsrådet). Over the past two decades, the focus has been on studying our innate immunity and developing new therapeutic concepts. The research group working on these research questions includes Professor Artur Schmidtchen, a biomedical analyst, a PhD student, a laboratory engineer, and two associate professors. Collaboration is ongoing with with PhD doctors and clinical doctoral students within the Department of Dermatology.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
We are looking for a person to work on the following tasks:
• Work within the research project on innate immunity.
• Responsibility for biophysical, microbiological, molecular biological, biochemical studies, and in vitro cell models.
• Responsibility for translational studies in animal models aiming to develop peptide-based treatments for wound healing and systemic indications.
• Interaction with biotech companies at Medicon Village that focus on therapy development and clinical studies.
Other tasks within the research group may also arise.

The Department of Clinical Sciences Lund is one of six departments at the Faculty of Medicine. Clinical Sciences Lund cooperates closely with Skåne University Hospital and the Faculty of Medicine in order to optimize the conditions for preclinical and clinical translational research, research strategies and development, as well as education on both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
