The Faculty of Law is hiring two student assistants in international law and sustainability.

International law and sustainability is one of the areas where the faculty is at the forefront. Examples of successful research projects include the project on environment-based peacebuilding funded by Formas, as well as sustainable investments within the framework of the EU's Green Deal and how it relates to international legal regulations in the field.

Requirements profile

According to Chapter 5, Section 10 HF, only those who have been admitted to first or second cycle education can be employed as amanuensis.

Work duties and responsibilities 

As an amanuensis, your duties may vary, but you must be studying at the faculty where the work will be carried out and the duties should provide an insight into the academic world. 

The tasks for this position include:

  • Book tickets and hotels for participants in workshops/seminars
  • Assist in organizing workshops/seminars, including arranging lunch, coffee, etc
  • Communicate with researchers participating in various writing projects
  • Assist with video lectures
  • Document project work
  • Take notes during workshops/conferences and write reports

Qualifications 

Eligible for employment as an amanuensis is anyone who is actively pursuing undergraduate and graduate studies at the faculty in question and who has not yet graduated. 

Requirements for the position are:

  • Good proficiency in English
  • Strong knowledge of international law
  • Experience with administrative work

Merits for the position are:

  • Interest in international law and sustainability issues
  • Familiarity with Lund University's booking system

Conditions

The appointment is limited in time during the period February 17, or according to agreement, to July 15 2025 and is for 10% of full-time. 

The employment may not adversely affect the amanuensis's studies and may not be combined with other employment. Provisions regarding educational employment as an amanuensis can be found in the Higher Education Ordinance (SFS 2017:284), Chapter 5, sections 8-12. 

The employment is covered by the flextime agreement
