Description of the workplace
At the Research Group for Social Medicine and Global Health (SMGH) we work with global public health issues in education, research and capacity development in collaboration with the global community. The activities are located at the Department of Clinical Sciences in Malmö and are led by Professor Anette Agardh. The research group consists of both researchers/teachers and administrative staff.

We are now looking for an assistant researcher for a temporary position.

Work duties and responsibilities
Your duties will include:

  • Participating in epidemiological research projects that investigate the relationship between air pollution and health. This includes delving into relevant research literature, identifying knowledge gaps, conducting statistical processing and analysis of existing data, and writing both scientific and popular science articles.
  • Teaching in migration, health and human rights at the master’s program in Public Health.
  • Course management for the course "Global Health and Human Rights".

Qualifications
Requirements for the position are:

  • Doctoral degree in Public Health Sciences.
  • Documented knowledge and experience in statistics, epidemiology and basic medical knowledge.
  • Experience in conducting literature reviews and publishing scientific articles.
  • Documented experience in course management and teaching public health sciences at an advanced level.
  • Higher education teaching qualifications.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with others in research groups.
  • Very good ability to express oneself verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities; the tasks require strong collaboration skills and a preference for working in a team. Furthermore, you should find it rewarding and interesting to work in a multicultural environment and with international collaborators.

Meritorious for the position are:

  • Experience working with registry data, including using programs such as SAS, SPSS, R, or Stata.
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment.

Terms
The position is a fixed-term employment (SÄVA) with a full-time scope of 100%. The desired start date is February 17, 2025. The employment extends until August 15, 2025.
