Work duties

To assist researchers with data collection, analysis, administration and daily routines. Duties include laboratory work, such as DNA and RNA extraction and in-situ hybridization, reptile husbandry, assistance with desktop-based data collection and analysis, and administrative support for managing shared resources, such as databases, placing orders etc.

Qualifications 

  • MSc in Evolutionary Biology or equivalent
  • Experience and skills in molecular laboratory work, such as extraction and analysis of DNA and RNA, (q)PCR, in-situ hybridization
  • Documented experience with reptile husbandry
  • Good knowledge of data processing and analysis in R
  • Very good knowledge of English
  • Documented ability to work independently and in a group
  • Documented ability to handle complex situations, including planning and prioritizing between tasks
  • A valid driver's license for Sweden is needed for field work
     

Other merits

  • Educational specialisation on evolutionary developmental biology
  • Experience with microscopy
  • Experience of working within a research group
  • Good knowledge of Swedish
