Lund University was founded in 1666 and is repeatedly ranked among the world’s top universities. The University has around 47 000 students and more than 8 800 staff based in Lund, Helsingborg and Malmö. We are united in our efforts to understand, explain and improve our world and the human condition.
Lund University welcomes applicants with diverse backgrounds and experiences. We regard gender equality and diversity as a strength and an asset.
The research group, Molecular Evolution, is driven by the goal of understanding the development of multicellularity – in the form of animals or tumors – and its subsequent diversification on Earth and within the human body. We work transdisciplinary across the boundaries of developmental biology and tumor biology. The group is located at BMC in Lund and is part of the strategic infrastructures of Lund Stem Cell Center (SCC) and Lund University Cancer Center (LUCC). We conduct high-quality research while placing great importance on diversity and fostering a stimulating environment in the lab. Within the research group, we continuously strive to create conditions that promote work satisfaction, development, and participation for all members.
At Lund University, a postdoctoral position should provide opportunities for scientific and pedagogical qualifications. Primarily, there is room for merit-building within research, but also to some extent for higher education pedagogy. Teaching may also be included in the duties. As a postdoc in the group, you will ask questions, plan and drive your project, and contribute to others' projects. You will conduct laboratory work and contribute to the continuous development of the group by sharing knowledge and striving to understand others' perspectives.
As a person, you should be prepared to work within a team toward a shared goal while also conducting independent work.
The assessment of applicants will be based primarily on their scientific merit and potential as researchers. Particular attention will be paid to scientific ability in the subject area.
Lund University is a public authority, which means that you will receive special benefits, generous vacation and a favorable occupational pension.
