Description of the workplace
The Proteostasis in Stem Cells lab is located at Division of Molecular Medicine and Gene Therapy at Biomedical center A12 and seeks a curious and motivated laboratory assistant with a background in stem cells and molecular biology. The lab, led by Associate Professor Agatheeswaran Subramaniam, employs a combination of cell biology and biochemical assays to uncover the role of ubiquitin ligases in hematopoietic stem cells and leukemia development. The group currently consists of two postdocs, a PhD student, and three Master’s students. The research team closely collaborates with Lund University hospital and Swedish national infrastructures such as BioMS and CBCS. Work duties and areas of responsibility
Ubiquitin ligases regulate the abundance of their target proteins through polyubiquitination and proteasomal degradation. With supervision from PI, the candidate will develop strategies to harness ubiquitin ligases and direct it towards the proteins of interest. The successful candidate will work in primary hematopoietic stem cells and will employ a set of molecular biology and cell biology assays. Work responsibilities include primary cell culture, FACS, cell sorting and protein abundance analysis.
