Description of the workplace
The Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Glycobiology (MIG) is looking for a research engineer with a focus on cell biology techniques, protein chemistry and immunology to our ongoing research projects led by Professor Catharina Svanborg. The group develops new discoveries from molecular mechanisms and animal models to clinical trials. The dynamic research group has a strong international position and offers good opportunities to develop a scientific career. Read more about our research here.

Work duties and areas of responsibility
You are expected to develop ongoing projects and perhaps make new discoveries. The work includes developing methodology and supervising younger group members and students. You will work in a team and collaborate on all our ongoing projects. You are expected to have experience of work tasks typical of laboratory research.
Qualifications
The requirements for the position are:
- Master of Science in Cellular and Molecular Biology
- Experience in the field of microbiology, immunology or other relevant field
- Publications in leading international journals
- Experience in bioinformatics, genomics and transcriptomics is an advantage
- Good language skills and habit of writing and presenting science in English
Additional merits for the position are:
- Research experience and previous knowledge in biomedicine
Research competence is the main criterion for employment. When assessing applicants, great emphasis will also be held at personal qualities. The work tasks require you to have technical and scientific competence, good communication skills and good cooperation skills.
Further information
The employment is a part time (20%) fixed term employment of 12 months according to SÄVA. Start date is May 1st, 2025, or according to agreement.
