Description of the workplace
The research group consists of Professor Pia Maly Sundgren (neuroradiologist), an MR physicist, an Associate Professor (MR physicist), as well as several postdoctoral researchers and PhD students. We have close collaborations with neurosurgeons, oncologists, and neurologists.
The group has a broad research focus, specializing in the use of advanced MRI methods to study brain tumors, particularly in terms of diagnostics and the effects of treatment on the brain.

Job responsibilities
Project description.
As a PhD student with us, you will conduct four sub-studies within the doctoral project Advanced CEST Imaging, with a focus on brain tumors. You will further develop and study the MR APT-weighted sequence for fluid-suppressed APTw MRI and hydroxyl-weighted CEST MRI to differentiate between different tumor types in the brain. You will also investigate other proteins within the Z-spectrum in APTw imaging and publish four papers.

Regulations for PhD employment are stated in ordinance SFS 1998:80. Only those admitted to doctoral education may be appointed to the position. In the selection process, primary consideration will be given to the applicant's ability to benefit from the doctoral education. In addition to conducting research studies, the holder of the position may be required to engage in teaching, research, and administrative duties in accordance with specific regulations.
