Description of the work place

Diabetes has a major impact on brain function, and increases the risk of developing Parkinson’s disease (PD). Our research aims at understanding the molecular mechanisms linking the two diseases, and at identifying novel therapeutic approaches that can benefit patients with comorbid diabetes-PD.

The Diabetes and Brain Function lab at the Department of Experimental Medical Science is located at the BMC, and is active within different research environments of the Faculty of Medicine, namely the LUDC, WCMM, and Multipark.

The recruited researcher will be working on determining cellular mechanisms that regulate neurochemical processes involved in the diabetes-PD association.

We offer:

We offer an atractive research environment, with close interactions with  labs with expertise on diabetes research, neuroscience, and regenerative medicine.
