The Centre for Mathematical Sciences comprises approximately 150 teachers, researchers, and doctoral students. This project aims to investigate Weinstein’s notion of contact degree of contactomorphisms. Despite being a well studied invariant there are no known non-trivial examples. The goal is to explore the interplay between bivariant K-theory, noncommutative geometry and contact geometry, to unveil new index theorems, and foster breakthroughs that may have far-reaching consequences across various scientific disciplines.
The main duties involved in a researcher position is to conduct research. Teaching may also be included, but up to no more than 20% of working hours. The position includes the opportunity for three weeks of training in higher education teaching and learning. The purpose of the position is to develop the independence as a researcher and to create the opportunity of further development.
Appointment to a researcher position requires that the applicant has a PhD, or an international degree deemed equivalent to a PhD, within the subject of the position. Priority will be given to candidates who have graduated no more than three years ago before the last day for application. Under special circumstances, the doctoral degree can have been completed earlier.
