Description of the workplace
The Laboratory for Cell and Molecular Mechanobiology is an interdisciplinary biomedical research group focused on understanding how the body's cells sense their physical environment and make decisions such as growing, dividing, or migrating. We apply our fundamental discoveries to the study of cancer metastasis, aiming to identify new therapeutic targets to combat cancer.

Job description and responsibilities
As a clinical assistant, you will work with high-resolution microscopy and flow cytometric analysis of cell surface receptors, including integrins, during cancer cell dormancy and proliferation. Additionally, you will develop image analysis pipelines to quantify key aspects of this process.

Requirements for the position

  • A completed medical degree or enrollment in a doctoral program in medicine at Lund University.
  • Strong experience in cancer cell mechanobiology and studies of the extracellular matrix (ECM).
  • Experience with high-resolution confocal microscopy and image analysis using tools such as CellProfiler.

Merits

  • Knowledge of integrin biology is considered an advantage.

Other information
The position is full-time (100%) and time-limited in accordance with the Higher Education Ordinance (Chapter 5, Sections 8–12) for a period of 12 months. The desired start date is May 2, 2025, or as agreed.
