Lund University is now seeking researchers in economic history. The position is for three months months, starting June 14, and is based at the Department of Economic History, Lund University School of Economics and Management.
The position is full-time (100 percent).
Subject area and job duties
The subject area is economic history.
The main duties consist of research, but also include teaching and certain administrative tasks. The position is linked to a project focusing on ecological transition and historical systemic change. Particular emphasis is placed on how mine closures, through case study analyses, can highlight the needs of local populations in connection with industrial transformation processes, thereby contributing to a just transition.
Requirements
A completed PhD in Economic History and demonstrated teaching proficiency.
Assessment criteria
The School of Economics and Management strives for a balance between research and teaching in all positions. Therefore, equal weight will be given to scientific and teaching proficiency in the assessment of applicants. Administrative skills will also be considered.
In the overall assessment of scientific proficiency, publication in journals or with book publishers that use an international peer-review system is highly meritorious, as is experience of international collaboration and participation in research networks. Publications within the project’s research area are considered an additional merit. The ability to engage with wider society and to communicate research findings will also be taken into account.
In the overall assessment of teaching qualifications, higher education teaching training, teaching experience, and pedagogical proficiency will be considered. Experience in teaching subjects related to development, poverty and sustainability is considered a strong merit.
Consideration will also be given to how the applicant, through their experience and expertise, is deemed to complement and strengthen the department’s research and teaching.
