The Faculty of Fine and Performing Arts is one of eight faculties within Lund University and includes Malmö Art Academy, Malmö Academy of Music and Malmö Theatre Academy, also Inter Arts Center and Choral Centre South. The Faculty of Fine and Performing Arts offers Bachelor and Master programs in visual art, music and drama, and various courses of different extent. The Faculty also runs third cycle (postgraduate) studies in artistic research and music education.
Malmö Theatre Academy is currently searching for a university lecturer for the Master's programme in Performing Arts as Critical Practice. We are looking for someone with pedagogical skills and documented artistic experience in contemporary performance. The position is part-time (50%) and temporary from October 1, 2025, to June 30, 2027 (or as agreed) according to 4 kap 10§ HF.
The Master's in Performing Arts as Critical Practice is an international, English-language programme open to artists within theatre, performance and dance, who want to situate their performing arts practice within the social and political conditions of the contemporary world.
Through the focus on process, individual and collective practical work, theory, and reflection seminars, writing and peer-to-peer exchange, participants are encouraged to work towards developing sustainable art practices. You can read more about the master's programme here.

Your responsibilities will include tutoring and teaching, as well as working closely with the program director to develop and maintain the program’s structure and daily implementation. The teaching will focus on artistic processes, facilitation, and documentation of artistic and collaborative processes.
As the students comes with different experiences, knowledge, and interests, much of the work is about following and supporting their individual artistic development while fasciitating safe and inspiring group dynamics.
Teaching includes group seminars, workshops, individual tutoring, facilitating peer-to-peer sessions, guidance and assessment. The job also includes administrative tasks related to running the program, e.g. scheduling, staff meetings, class meetings and planning, in collaboration with the head of the program and the other teachers.

In this position, an ability to engage and inspire students to their own learning is required. Furthermore, good cooperation skills are required.
For the employment, higher education pedagogical training of at least five weeks is required or that the applicant has acquired equivalent knowledge in another way. If there are special reasons, employment can still take place. The applicant must then undergo a higher education pedagogic education during the first two years of employment, so that the requirement for higher education pedagogic education is met.

The evaluation of the pedagogical skill is based on demonstrated ability to implement and evaluate courses and training, whereby experience in the subject area in question is particularly meritorious.
