Description of the workplace
The Cardiovascular research - Translational studies is studying cardiovascular disease with a focus on biological differences that underlie acute complications such as heart attacks and strokes. The research is translational and includes studies of human tissue and several in-vitro models. The group has for many years been at the forefront of the field and has established collaborations with several international research groups.

The group, led by professor Isabel Goncalves and associate professor Andreas Edsfeldt, consists of postdocs, doctoral students, bioinformatics and laboratory engineers with both clinical and preclinical backgrounds. The group is located at CRC in Malmö.

We are promoting a broad cooperation between our group members and other national and international research groups to create a a dynamic and inspiring work environment. Work duties and responsibilities

  • Supervision of doctoral students, postdocs and assistant researchers in bioinformatics, clinical cardiology, experimental cardiology and diabetology.
  • Teaching about heart disease at the University for medical students and physiotherapy students.
  • Administrative assignments within LUDC and Exodiab.
  • Responsibility for financing and financial planning.
  • Other assignments may also occur.

Other qualifications
The job requires:

  • Medical license issued by the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare or another issuer deemed equivalent by the employer.
  • Associate Professor in Cardiovascular Research or equivalent qualification.
  • Documented supervision of clinical and pre-clinical doctoral students.
  • Well documented experience in cardiology and diabetology.
  • As a person, you need to be committed and passionate about the research and are expected to work both independently and as part of a team

The following are considered to be a merit:

  • Good knowledge of single cell and spatial sequencing
  • Pedagogical training
  • Leadership training

Terms of employment
This is a temporary employment with a scope of 5% during six months with immediate entry or according to agreement.
