Workplace Description
The assistant researcher will be based in the Neurovascular Research Group at the Department of Clinical Sciences in Lund, Faculty of Medicine. The group conducts translational research focused on stroke, drug delivery using nanotechnology for brain repair, and the impact of air pollution on the brain. The group uses experimental stroke models and advanced imaging techniques such as IVIS, MRI and SPECT/CT. Led by Dr. Saema Ansar, the group is currently engaged in several projects in collaboration with international networks and clinical partners.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
As an assistant researcher in the group, you will be responsible for project planning and independently carrying out various research tasks, as well as supervising students. Your work will involve both in vitro and in vivo methodologies. In vitro work will include cell culture, RT-qPCR, western blotting, and histological analysis. In vivo work will involve the use of experimental stroke models, behavioral testing, and conducting MRI and SPECT/CT scans. You will also analyze and evaluate data and compile and write scientific publications.

Additional Information
The position is a fixed-term employment according to the Special Fixed-term Employment (SÄVA) regulations §5 p1 LAS, and it is full-time. The desired start date is 2025-08-01 or as agreed upon, with an end date of 2025-09-30.
