Working place

Department of Immunotechnology with research ranging from advanced technology development to biomedical research. Main research areas include immuno-oncology, sensitization and biomarkers. Advanced technologies are used within the department, including genomics and transcriptomics, phage display-based antibody development, large-scale mass spectrometry-based proteomics, and associated bioinformatics. The department is also responsible for student courses, and we offer high quality education at undergraduate and graduate level. The department employs about 35 people.

As the department is in a development phase, a research engineer is sought for a temporary position with both laboratory and administrative tasks. The purpose of the position is to ensure continuity in the laboratory activities and to support administrative processes linked to the work environment and coordination during the transition period until a permanent position(s) is appointed. The position involves close collaboration with the institution's researchers, technical staff and administrative functions, and requires practical flexibility and good ability to handle coordination tasks in a changing environment.

Work duties 

  • The position includes tasks such as
  • identifying service and maintenance needs for experimental equipment
  • coordination of service and maintenance in the laboratory environment
  • inventory and follow-up of systematic work environment management
  • supporting the department's research groups with laboratory work when needed

Qualifications  

Required qualifications for the position are:

  • PhD, or equivalent foreign degree, in biotechnology, cell or molecular biology.
  • Practical experience in phage display selection.
  • Practical experience in immunochemical analysis techniques
  • Practical experience in molecular biology work
  • Practical experience in project management
  • Proven experience in writing and producing different types of texts, e.g. instructions, action plans.

Additional qualifications for the position are:

  • Experience in flow cytometry (iQUE)
  • Experience with O-sys, order system.
  • Experience in characterization of antibody binding
  • Experience working in projects with external customers
  • Experience in supervision and teaching of students
  • Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills, and in addition to the qualifications mentioned above, a successful candidate is also expected to fulfill the following requirements:

Consideration will be given to how the applicant's experience and skills are expected to complement and relieve both the laboratory and administrative activities of the department.
