Subject
Communications Engineering with focus on Sensing and Positioning
Subject description
Communications engineering for wireless systems is a wide subject area that spans design and analysis of cellular and wireless communication systems and the sub-blocks therein. It concerns also the physical radio channel and the interaction between this, the antennas and the other parts of the radio system. Interaction between different sub-parts is essential to reach a well working and efficient cellular or wireless communication system.
This employment has a special focus on joint wireless communication and sensing where radio signals from the wireless networks are used for efficient and reliable communication, accurate positioning and sensing. This means that the subject area includes mobile communication systems for 5G and 6G, channel modelling, channel characterization, radio-based positioning and sensing, and associated signal processing algorithms.
