About us
The Faculty of Science conducts research and education in astronomy, biology, chemistry, environmental science, geoscience, mathematics, physical geography, and physics. The Faculty of Science is located in the northern part of the University campus. We have around 1,500 students, 360 doctoral students and 700 staff. Our departments from January 1st 2026 are: Centre for Mathematical Sciences, Department of Biology, Department of Environmental and Earth Sciences, Department of Chemistry, Department of Physics, and Division of Medical Radiation Physics. We also host LINXS Institute of Advanced Neutron and X-ray Science as part of our engagement in the large-scale neutron and X-ray facilities, ESS and MAX IV.

About the role
As a visiting professor at Lund University, your responsibilities will primarily focus on research and if applicable mentorship. The specifics will be determined on an individual basis.

You are currently employed as a full professor at a higher education institution outside of Sweden, and meet the requirements presented below.

We are looking for candidates who: 

  • Are currently employed as full professors at higher education institutions outside of Sweden. 
  • Demonstrate an outstanding scientific track record of the highest international standard within their field of expertise.
  • Possess unique competencies valuable to our departments. 
  • Demonstrate strong academic leadership, with a proven ability to develop research environments and academic communities. 
  • Have excellent communication skills.
  • Are proficient in both oral and written English.

Form of employment
Fixed-term position, 2 years, in accordance with Chapter 4, Section 12 of the Higher Education Ordinance. Employment rate 20 %.
