 Work duties

We offer you a broad role where you, together with committed colleagues, contribute to an attractive study, research and working environment.

The work is done both independently in direct contact with students and in close collaboration with teachers with different assignments and workshop staff. Teaching students is a major part of the working day. We are now looking for two lectures who will work with teaching and supervision of students in our education programs from the first sketch to the finished prototype.

 The tasks include:

Teaching at undergraduate and graduate level in industrial and engineering design. Supervision of bachelor and master theses. Supporting students' prototyping work in undergraduate and masters courses Responsible for the operation and further development of small workshops/labs linked to the Industrial Design department and that procedures and guidelines for the work are followed by students, as well as other workshops when needed. Contribute with expertise in the field of physical and digital prototyping, Carry out the purchase of materials and new instruments. Administration related to the above tasks

 Qualification requirements

Appointment as a lecturer requires that the applicant has:

  • Completed a second-cycle degree or acquired corresponding knowledge and has other skills of value in view of the subject matter of the post and the duties that it will involve.
  • Demonstrated teaching expertise.
  • Completed five weeks of training in higher education teaching and learning or acquired equivalent knowledge by other means.

Additional requirements:

Very good knowledge of English, spoken and written. Master's degree in industrial design Experience in digital and analog prototyping in different materials, experience in ceramics (casting, tolerances, firing, etc.) photography, sewing and 3:D LAB Experience in planning, building and running/maintaining workshops Experience in supervising students Good interpersonal skills Self-motivated and structured Teaching experience in Industrial Design Teaching experience from Industrial and Engineering Design

 Assessment criteria

For appointments to lecturer, the following shall form the assessment criteria:

  • Good subject knowledge of relevance to the post and the duties it will involve.
  • Good teaching ability including a good ability to develop and pursue teaching and other educational activities on different levels and using a variety of teaching methods.
  • Very good professional experience or other experience of relevance to the post.

Other assessment criteria:

  • Have the ability to independently plan and organize your work
  • Knowledge of safety regulations in engineering
  • Experience working in CANVAS and other university related programs.

Consideration will also be given to good collaborative skills, drive and independence, and how the applicant’s experience and skills complement and strengthen the department, and how they stand to contribute to its future development.
