Furthermore, there are duties normally included in the position of senior lecturer, such as administration and internal and external elected office assignments, both nationally and internationally. The successful candidate is also expected to take on management responsibilities for education and research in the subject area.

A key part of the work is to participate in second-cycle teaching in global health and related subjects, with a particular focus on the economic aspects of health systems. Teaching includes activities in the international Master’s programme in Public Health, where the successful candidate is expected to contribute through teaching, supervision and course development. In addition, the successful candidate is expected to be involved in third-cycle education and contribute to the supervision of doctoral students and postdocs.

The successful candidate is expected to conduct research of a high scientific standard in the relevant subject area and actively contribute to the development of the research environment at the department. The work requires close collaboration with other research teams at Lund University and with researchers at other higher education institutions, both nationally and internationally. Research and teaching are conducted in cooperation with relevant organisations in health systems, and require dialogue and the exchange of knowledge with international organisations such as the European Union (EU) and World Health Organization (WHO), with the aim of enhancing scientific quality and societal relevance in the subject area.

This can be demonstrated by a good ability to plan, lead, develop and implement education, as well as the ability to implement subject-related and research-based expertise in education components. The ability to lead first and second-cycle university education will be a particularly desired qualification.

In addition, the applicant is to demonstrate research expertise by their own current research being conducted at a high national and/or international level. Research expertise is demonstrated by publications in international scientific journals, grants obtained in competition, and experience in national and international research collaborations. The significance of the research for the development of health systems, and its links to global contexts and international organisations such as the European Union (EU) and World Health Organization (WHO), constitute a particularly desirable aspect.
