Description of the workplace

The group is based at the Department of Immunotechnology, Faculty of Engineering, and focusses on mental health aspects in relation to cancer. In particular, research aims to identify biomarkers for resilience or susceptibility to mental health issues common in cancer (e.g. depression, PTSD). We are further interested in using identified markers as pharmaceutical targets.

Work duties

The project is within the interdisciplinary field of immune-psycho-oncology. Work tasks will include both bioinformatic work as well as laboratory tasks. Structured literature searches and mining of databases are also part of the project.

 

Qualifications

Required qualifications for the position are:

  • You have a MSc degree in pharmaceutical technology or another relevant field
  • You are fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • You have experience with R and Python
  • You have a documented theoretical background in the molecular biology subjects of genetics, cell biology, biochemistry and immunology
  • You have practical laboratory experience, in particular in working with DNA
  • You have knowledge in biomolecular omics analyses

 

Additional qualifications for the position are:

  • Experience with additional laboratory techniques is meriting
  • You have good communication skills, incl scientific writing
  • You have a background in oncology and immunology
  • You are a team worker and flexible in adapting to changing work tasks

Further information

The position is a full-time fixed term position for six month and starting August 1, 2025 or by agreement.
