Workplace Description
The research is conducted at the Biomedical Centre in Lund, in close proximity to Skåne University Hospital. The research group is part of the Department of Clinical Sciences at Lund University and is led by Professor Sandra Lindstedt. The focus is on clinically oriented research in lung transplantation and the development of advanced diagnostic methods for pulmonary diseases. The project specifically aims to develop and apply advanced imaging techniques to enable early and precise diagnosis of complications such as primary graft dysfunction, ischemia-reperfusion injury, and transplant rejection.
This initiative integrates expertise in pulmonary medicine, image analysis, and molecular diagnostics to establish a strong translational research program. Through Lund University's infrastructure and research environment, the project benefits from access to state-of-the-art imaging technology, interdisciplinary collaborations, and international networks, further enhancing its potential to contribute to individualized and improved post-transplant care.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

The position involves advanced research in lung transplantation, with a particular focus on the development and application of advanced imaging techniques to identify and monitor post-transplant complications. The work includes experimental studies using ex vivo organ perfusion to evaluate lung function and treatment effects in real time.
The appointed researcher will be responsible for planning, executing, and analyzing imaging and organ perfusion studies, as well as contributing to method development, publications, and interdisciplinary collaborations within the project.

The position is a fixed-term employment according to the Special Fixed-term Employment (SÄVA) regulations §5 p1 LAS, and it is full-time. The desired start date is 2025-10-01 or as agreed upon, with an end date of 2026-09-29.
