About the Workplace

The Pufendorf Institute is an independent institute within Lund University that annually hosts 4–5 research groups working collaboratively on emerging research challenges. A team of five staff members with different areas of expertise supports the researchers during their time at the institute. The institute hosts a large number of international researchers, both as visiting scholars and as part of the interdisciplinary groups. Various activities related to the research groups take place throughout the year, and the institute actively supports the groups in their interdisciplinary processes.

The institute’s administrative team consists of five people: the director, coordinator, communications officer, unit administrator, and janitor. The team works collaboratively in a project-based format but is also guided by the institute’s recurring calls for applications, the selection and introduction of new groups, and ongoing support to the groups throughout their research year. International Fellows and guest researchers visit the institute throughout the year and must be welcomed and supported - making English-language communication essential. The institute also organizes various activities aimed at the public and university colleagues, for which the administrative team is responsible for planning and implementation.

The work varies throughout the year and is largely guided by the annual cycle of incoming research groups.
