Description of the work place

The position is placed at Lund Nano Lab, which belongs to the Department of Physics. Lund Nano Lab, which has approximately 20 employees and 140 users/ students, conducts extensive research in semiconductor physics, ranging from materials science to quantum physics. Lund Nano Lab is a central facility in a cleanroom environment for the production of materials and components on the nanoscale.

Job duties

The main responsibility is to manage the daily needs of Lund Nano Lab, making it easier for users to conduct their research and development work. You will support the Director with purchasing and warehousing as well as handling process media, gases and supplies to and from the cleanroom environment, and some janitorial services may also be required.

The duties include:

  • routine inspection of the facility's systems. Inform the Intendent / Landlord as soon as possible if problems arise.
  • identify and implement changes to support continuous improvements in the work environment (SAM) and user safety.
  • to enable users to conduct their research at Lund Nano Lab by providing timely assistance. Support the dissemination of information to users.
  • responsibility for minor interventions and routine maintenance of research equipment to support researchers and students.
  • purchasing of cleanroom consumables to support the Nanolab. Support with inventory and monitoring of stock levels.
  • assist with distribution of chemicals and removal of chemical waste in support of the chemist responsible for chemicals and movement, installation, handling and safe storage of gas cylinders in support of the Intendent.
  • contribute to technical documentation to support users and colleagues.
  • support the planning and transition to a new nanolab in Science Village , Brunnshög.

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

  • high school education and/or equivalent professional experience in a technical environment.
  • customer-oriented, finds solutions to help users and colleagues.
  • fluent in Swedish and English (spoken and written).
  • experience with MS Office programs.


Meritorious

  • previous experience working in a cleanroom environment is not necessary, but would be an advantage.
  • ability to perform basic troubleshooting.
  • experience working with the daily operation of technical facilities/buildings.

Further information

Permanent position at 100 % of full-time. Probationary period could be applied. Start 2025-11-01 or after agreement.
