This position will be part of the Inorganic Nanomaterials research group within the Centre for Analysis and Synthesis (CAS) at the Department of Chemistry. We are a highly international unit and strive to maintain gender balance. Research at CAS focuses on inorganic, organic, polymer and materials synthesis, as well as advanced structural analysis and characterization, with applications spanning nanomaterials, energy storage, and catalysis.
The primary duty of this position will be research within the subject area of lead-free piezo(electro)ceramic and electrochemical processes. The researcher will be responsible for designing and carrying out experiments aimed at understanding fundamental processes involved in solid-state formation, structure-property relationships, piezoelectric, electrocatalysis, and electrochemical energy applications. The researcher will also have responsibility for research infrastructure related to powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) and Raman spectroscopy. The focus will be on niobates, tantalates, group V dichalcogenides, and noble-metal tellurides. The researcher will work together with PhD students, postdocs, and a research engineer, to perform the experiments.

The position is a fixed term position for 1 year at 100 % of full time. The position is not a teaching position and is covered by the Flexitime Agreement for T/A staff.
