Practical Theology is a discipline that places particular emphasis on the study of what can be described as central ecclesial practices – liturgy, preaching, education, and diaconal work. Research on, for example, church organization and Christian spirituality is also included in the field of Practical Theology. Questions concerning the significance of theology for shaping these practices, or how these practices themselves can be understood as expressions of an implicit theology, are of fundamental importance.
