Work duties
The tasks are that you will prepare samples for different reasearch laboratories at the Department of Geology but will be mainly attached to the Gas-Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometer (G-IRMS) laboratory. You  will carry out analyzes and data reduction for the G-IRMS. You are also be able to do the maintenance and trouble-shooting of the mass-spectrometer and its peripherals (i.e. elemental analyzer, gas bench and gas chromatograph) and to supervise the long-term stability, accuracy and precision of the analyzes. You are be able to supervise researchers and students working on these instruments. In addition, you will work in the samples preparation of different laboratories following the needs. You are expected to work actively with laboratory safety development.

Qualifications

  • You are expected to have a university degree (at least MSc or equivalent) in a subject relevant to the position, such as geology or chemistry.
  • You are experienced in Gas-Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry.
  • You must have knowledge of laboratory- and other safety regulations and work experience of working with potentially hazardous substances, such as various types of chemicals.
  • You set high standards for data quality and have a deep understanding of contamination issues.

Terms of employment

The position is a permanent position (§ 4 LAS) for 100 % as a Researcher for wanted start from 7:th of January 2026 or as soon as possible after that. A probationary period of 6 months may be applicable.
