Description of the workplace
The Neurodegenerative Research group is focused on defining and understanding biological processes in Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative diseases. We analyze large datasets collected from patients and cognitively unimpaired volunteers, who undergo extensive testing with neuroimaging, biomarker measurements and neuropsychological testing. Our group applies sophisticated statistical analyses to these unique and state-of-the-art datasets to model processes related to aging and disease. The postdoc will join a growing multidisciplinary team of neuroscientists, statisticians, biologists and engineers, who are dedicated to increasing understanding of neurodegenerative diseases. The research group is led by Dr. Jacob Vogel, and this position is located at the Biomedical Center (BMC) in Lund.

We aim to create a positive, supportive and inclusive work environment based on respect and mutual consideration. We strive to create an environment that promotes development and is stimulating to all employees.

We are looking for two Postdoctoral researchers for this position.

Project description
The project will involve integrating PET, multi-modal MRI and other biomarker data to i) resolve the temporal ordering of key pathological events in Alzheimer’s disease; and ii) understand how early pathological events in AD give rise to inter-individual heterogeneity in disease expression. The project will involve integration of multiple large, longitudinal neuroimaging datasets.

Work duties and areas or responsibilities
