Description of the workplace
The work is intended to take place mainly within the breast and lung cancer group at the oncology section at Medicon Village. The work environment consists primarily of other group members, with access to an office space, computer, and opportunities to participate in seminars, group meetings, and other forms of professional discussions at the workplace.

We are now looking for a clinical assistant at 30% employment during the period January 15 – April 15, 2026.

Job description and responsibilities
The role involves completing an ongoing project on the role of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes in lung cancer prognosis. There is a cohort of HE-stained slides from approximately 200 operated lung cancer cases, scanned and ready for digital assessment. The assessments will be planned and carried out in consultation with pathology resident physician and PhD student Daniel Ehinger, and with Associate Professor and research group leader Maria Planck as the main responsible. The position will also include compiling and interpreting results, as well as participation in statistical analysis and writing.

Requirements for the position

  • Medical degree
  • Work experience as a physician in pathology, including tumor diseases

Merits

  • Knowledge of/experience in thoracic pathology, tumor immunology (particularly regarding morphological evaluation), and lung oncology

Other information
The position is 30% and limited in time according to the Higher Education Ordinance (HF) Chapter 5, Sections 8–12, for less than 3 months. Desired start date is January 15, 2026, or as agreed.
