Description of the workplace
The assistant researcher will be affiliated with the Quantitative Immunobiology research group. The group conducts high‑technology medical research focused on immunology, infection, and cancer, and consists of a diverse mix of doctoral students, postdoctoral researchers, as well as technical and administrative staff. We are now seeking an assistant researcher at 50% for a period of 12 months, with a desired start date of 15 June 2026.

Work duties and areas of responsibility
The position involves the development and application of data‑driven microscopy (DDM), a novel microscopy platform currently being developed within the research group. DDM will be used to study how cells interact with other cells and with their surrounding environment. The results will be applied to medical research questions within cancer, infection, and immunology.

Additional duties within the role may also be assigned.

Qualifications
Requirements for the position are:

  • A PhD in Biomedicine or equivalent, completed by the start of employment
  • Very strong experience in advanced data‑driven (smart) microscopy
  • Very strong experience in advanced image analysis
  • A high degree of independence
  • Good communication skills

Additional information
The position is a fixed‑term employment at 50% for the period 15 June 2026 – 14 June 2027.
