We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join a newly established research group at Faculty of Medicine and MultiPark at Lund University. Our research aims to uncover how microglia dynamically modulate neural circuits to shape memory formation and extinction across health, psychiatric disorders (e.g., anxiety and fear disorders), and neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. The successful candidate will work at the interface of circuit neuroscience and microglial biology, using cutting-edge methodologies including: two-photon microscopy, miniatured microscope, optogenetics, behavioral phenotyping and transcriptomics.

This is a full-time, fixed-term employment of two years initially with possibility of extension. The start date of the position is flexible, however better in fall of 2026.
The position is limited to two years with a preliminary start date of 2026-11-01 or by agreement.

A postdoctoral position is limited to two years with the possibility to extend to three years according to collective agreement for postdocs (The Swedish Agency for Government Employers). A postdoctoral position is intended as an initial step in a scientific career and as an opportunity to develop key competencies as a researcher.
