The Industrial Relations Team is responsible for assisting industrial users and are actively promoting the facility towards different industries together with our collaboration partners, such as universities, mediator companies, institutes. We are working closely with the User Office Team in creating the best experience possible for a visiting user. The group consists of the Head of Industrial Relations and one Industrial Relations Officer.

Tasks
As a science communications officer with industrial engagement focus, your responsibility will be to support the industrial relations office (IRO) at MAX IV with your knowledge and hands-on skills to produce and publish scientific results from our industrial users and collaboration partners. A big part of your role is to help disseminate research findings and outreach activities to industry leaders, decision makers and potential industrial users that are not yet familiar with synchrotron light and its benefits. You will also be part of industrial outreach and engagement efforts of MAX IV IRO. You will work within the MAXESS Industry Arena project do produce industry cases , easy accessible technology descriptions and help to shape the outreach material to fit the audience. The material we produce is to be easily accessible, educating and inspiring in the form of texts, photos, videos and infographics. Our main platform for outreach is our web site but we also do it through social media as well as at visits, seminars, conferences and events. Our goal is to meet the industry research community and decision makers where they are, in a way that makes them interested in learning more as well as strengthening the brand of MAX IV Laboratory. In your role as science communications officer you will take part in various projects, groups and events, both internally and with external collaborators.

Qualifications
As a person, you are outgoing, persuasive and pay attention to details. You have a certain entrepreneurial spirit and knows how to drive ideas and projects from start to finish. You are easy-going, have a winning personality and enjoy explaining science during study visits, seminars and conferences both for high school students, senior citizens and kings.

You have a keen interest in science in general and science communication specifically and you keep track of the latest trends and tools that will enhance our work. Your ability to have a close cooperation with staff and users at the laboratory is essential to ensure highest possible efficiency and redundancy in our communication activities.

Required

  • University degree in Science or Engineering or equivalent experience
  • University degree in Communications or equivalent education and experience
  • Fluent in English, written and spoken
  • Proven experience working with Social Media, WordPress, Google Analytics, Adobe CC, and videoproduction
  • Proven experience in communicating complex science in a pedagogically way tailored to differentaudiences
