Accelerator physicist in single particle dynamics - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

Tasks
The successful candidate will work in collaboration with other MAX IV staff to perform tasks including:

• Single particle dynamics studies for possible magnet lattices in a future upgrade of the MAX IV 3 GeV ring.
• Experimental studies and operation of the two storage rings at MAX IV Laboratory.
• Theoretical and experimental work on linear and non-linear dynamics aimed at understanding the underlying physics and pushing the performance of the two MAX IV rings to best possible level.
• Implementation and diagnose of linear and non-linear lattice corrections related to insertion devices.
• Supervision of student work

Qualifications
The successful candidate shall have the following qualifications:

• PhD in accelerator physics or equivalent
• Demonstrated experience in theoretical modelling and experimental studies of particle beam dynamics in electron storage rings
• Ability to work both independently, and to work in collaboration with engineering, operation and physics experts
• Very good skills in English, both oral and written
