The Department of Psychology invites applications for a post-doctoral researcher within the project of the Lund Memory Lab “A closer look at knowledge acquisition in the digital era” (Principal Investigator: Dr Andrey Nikolaev).
The goal of the project is to elucidate the neural mechanisms of learning in free-viewing multimodal digital media and to determine how critical factors such as multitasking, perceptual complexity, cognitive demands, and external distractions affect memory and learning. The project will capitalize on recent advances in simultaneous EEG and eye tracking during free-viewing behavior. This innovative methodological approach allows for naturalistic, ecologically valid tasks and provides rich information about perceptual and cognitive processes.
The project will be carried out in the Lund Memory Lab in collaboration with other members of the research team. The team has expertise in memory research using behavioral tests, EEG, and eye tracking, combined with state-of-the-art machine learning techniques. The Lund Memory Lab is led by Prof. Mikael Johansson and produces research with international impact at the forefront of current episodic memory research.
