Technician SoftiMAX and MaxPEEM - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

MAX IV is now looking for a technician for the beamlines MAXPEEM and SoftiMAX.

The job
As a Technician at MAXPEEM & SoftiMAX, you get the opportunity to develop new skills, work independently on projects and perform a variety of tasks. You are an important part of the team, where you contribute with your expertise in electronic and/or mechanical installation work & design to keep the equipment running and so help to ensure and improve opportunities for cutting edge research.

Examples of your Work Tasks

• Improve and assemble sample holders (fine mechanics) for different types of measurements
• Design/installation of a relay switch for magnetic measurements; solder connections to a photon detector; or wire up a stepper motor system
• Installation & troubleshooting of high vacuum equipment
• Service & quality control of beamline equipment.

To be successful in this role you need to have the following qualifications

• Education in engineering with specialization in electrics/electronics, machine maintenance, automation or similar. The most important thing is that you can show examples of practical skills in your area of expertise - and you are eager to learn the rest
• General knowledge in mechanical assembly/installations
• General knowledge of electrical installations
• Accuracy, curiosity and dexterity
• Good at finding solutions
• General IT skills (Word, Excel, etc.)
• You can communicate well in English – knowledge of Swedish is seen as a merit.

Below are seen as merits

• Skills in more advanced programs such as CAD/CADprofi EL or Python/C++ are considered a merit

As a person you are responsible, with a healthy curiosity in technical developments. You can work independently, as well as in small teams, and you are not afraid to show initiative and contribute to finding solutions to technical issues. In communication, you are open and responsive to what your colleagues say, while also able to express and present your own ideas as part of the discussion.
