Job assignments
The successful candidate will primarily teach quantitative analysis using SPSS at the MA level. The candidate may also teach at the BA and PhD levels, potentially involving other software, such as Stata or R. Secondary assignments may include assisting research projects with quantitative analysis and strategic development. The position includes 20 percent research. 

The successful candidate is expected to actively contribute to a positive development of the faculty’s educational and research environment. 

The term for this position in Swedish is “universitetslektor”. The official translation is Senior Lecturer. The position is limited to one year of employment, with a possible extension of a second year.

 

Eligibility/Entry Requirements
To be eligible for the position as a Senior Lecturer, the prospective candidate must have been awarded a PhD in one of the social sciences, or equivalent. 

Applicants must also be able to demonstrate documented teaching competence. The successful candidate must be able to teach in English and therefore excellent skills in verbal and written English are essential. A capacity to teach in Swedish is desirable.

 

Basis of Assessment
Particular weight is put on pedagogical and teaching skills, including the capacity to teach, organize, and develop teaching in quantitative methods. Particular weight will also be put on scientific ability, including a track record of international publications and participation in international research collaborations. 

Weight is put on advanced quantitative methods skills (e.g. multi-level modeling, time-series analysis, structural equation modeling, Bayesian statistics). Some weight is put on administrative skills.
