Lund University School of Economics and Management is accredited by the three largest and most influential accreditation institutes for business schools: EQUIS, AMBA and AACSB. Only just over 100 business schools in the world have achieved this prestigious Triple Crown accreditation.

The Department of Business Administration is one of the largest departments at Lund University, and it is also the largest department of the School of Economics and Management. We conduct active and advanced research in marketing.

Marketing is one of four broad subject areas within the Department and is taught and investigated in close interplay with international research and wider public audiences. Our profile is marked by a longstanding engagement in close-up empirical studies. The conditions for business and marketing have changed dramatically from simple seller – buyer transactions to a multi-dimensional platform and exchange economy. Today, we see how digital platforms like Amazon, Alibaba, Google, Spotify, Airbnb and Uber are completely transforming the way in which companies define the market and deal with the various strategic marketing processes like innovation, product and service development, retail and distribution, and industrial networking.

Subject description
Lund University School of Economics and Management announces a permanent, full-time position as senior lecturer in Business Administration, specialising in Digital Marketing and Quantitative Methods. The position entails research within the research areas in which the Marketing group is currently active in order to maintain and strengthen the cohesion of the group, as well as teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Teaching comprises a maximum of 70% of the post, and a minimum of 20% research and 10% administrative duties. However, the relative proportions of duties may change over time in line with access to external research grants.

The employment must extend our current capacity and competences in digital marketing and quantitative methods. We are looking for a lecturer who can independently take charge of course responsibilities (in courses aimed at digital marketing), responsibility for quality assurance and for development. We look for candidates that can assist undergraduate and masters’ students with quantitative methods in terms of supervision of theses.  The position aims to contribute to the long-term strengthening of research in digital marketing in combination with quantitative methods. The position requires expertise in digital marketing and innovation, with direct connection to digital platforms and how to build strategic relationships with customers and other stakeholders in a digital society. We are looking for a candidate that has research experience in digital marketing related to business development, innovation, product development, service development, industrial networking, retail & distribution rather than tactical issues like digital communication, social media, online advertising, etc.

The person is expected to conduct active advanced research within the area, which also includes active work in applying for external funding and developing collaborations with other university units and other Swedish and international organisations involved in this type of research. An active and committed presence in the daily activities at the department and its collaboration with society at large is required.

Marketing and business administration are global research fields. Much of our teaching and research therefore has international relevance and this dimension is likely to increase in the future. A PhD degree, and experience from an international research and teaching environment other than LUSEM, is therefore a strong merit for the position. Teaching is in English.

Qualification requirements
In order to be a qualified applicant, a PhD in business administration within Marketing, Innovation or a related subject area is required, as well as completion of at least five weeks of training in higher education teaching and learning.

Applicants must have documented experience with teaching or research linked to quantitative method and marketing via bachelor and/or master theses supervision about digital platforms, industrial marketing, service marketing or innovation.

Applicants must be able to present a strong and clear research agenda backed up with research output, containing digital marketing, innovation, or equivalent, and quantitative methods where the applicant has contributed with a standard that corresponds to peer-reviewed research of international quality.

Good oral and written proficiency in English is required.
