You will closely collaborate with our newly appointed Physical Sciences Director, who is starting work in March 2018. You will take over the position from the present Life Sciences Director who is moving to a new position outside of MAX IV where he will be part of facilitating the use of synchrotrons and neutron facilities in industry related research and innovation within academia, institutes and companies.

The position is a permanent position as researcher at MAX IV with a renewable 5-year assignment as Science Director.

As Science Director you will partially initiate and lead the work to realize such growth as well as be responsible for leading and operating the science activities related to life sciences, biology and chemistry at Sweden’s largest research infrastructure. This requires scientific creativity, an ability to reach out and connect to top-researchers in Sweden and around the world, as well as working on obtaining the funding to realize the scientific ambitions. This work is done in very close collaboration with the Physical Sciences director.

Today the Life Science Director is responsible for three groups containing several beamlines each, as well as the Controls & IT group, the Users Office and ILO.
