Tasks
As a member of the hardware team you will be involved in the process of defining/designing, installing, configuring and debugging hardware devices that a beamline needs to successfully operate and reach it’s research goals. When there are no commercial hardware suitable for our needs, we develop what we need, preferably together in collaboration with other synchrotron facilities that faces the same challenges as we do. You will come in contact with motors, position detectors, electrometers, power supplies, cameras, electron and photo detectors and much more. We work in close collaboration with many groups, especially the controls software group. Your work will overlap with theirs with a common goal of building world class research beamlines.
The role includes On-call support a few weeks per year.
This is the opportunity to learn and to increase your skills, competence and experience. In an international facility such as MAX IV you will meet open minded people from different perspectives. Inside the KITS group, composed of network, system, hardware engineers and scientific software experts, we promote a devops style cross functional team.
